Hyatt Concierge Suspends Guest of Honor Bookings via Twitter - Takes only Phone and Email Bookings

One of the most unique perks from the World of Hyatt program is the Guest of Honor benefit for Globalist members - award nights that are redeemed on points and gifted will allow a friend or family member to enjoy all in-hotel benefits like club lounge access (where available), complimentary breakfast and upgrades (up to a standard suite). Even though these bookings cannot be done on your own, you used to be able to reach out to the Hyatt Concierge via Twitter to get them booked but it appears that this service has now been suspended on Twitter so you will either have to pick up a phone or to reach out to your dedicated Hyatt Concierge (a benefit that you will unlock after reaching 60 eligible nights each year) to make these bookings.

This is only my second year as a Globalist in the World of Hyatt program and I have just re-qualified through February 2024 with a recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort. While the Hyatt Concierge on Twitter has been really helpful in the last couple of years, I was recently assigned a dedicated Hyatt Concierge after hitting 60 nights in the World of Hyatt program. I reached out to her to make secure a Guest of Honor award booking yesterday but since I did not hear back after 24 hours, I decided to try my luck with the Twtitter account but was told that they have now suspended this service via Twitter for privacy reasons.

These Guest of Honor bookings are fantastic when you have close friends or family members who are traveling on their own and do not have top-tier status in the World of Hyatt program. There is currently a 25% bonus on World of Hyatt point purchases through 28 November - this works out to 1.92 cents per point which may be super useful if you are planning a trip for someone. For example, Category 1 properties like the Alila Bangsar in Kuala Lumpur go for just 3,500 points per night on off-peak days, and purchasing the points with a 25% bonus would price it at just USD 67.20 - making a Guest of Honor booking will give your guest a chance at a complimentary Bangsar Suite (check out my review here!) upgrade and also allow them to enjoy complimentary breakfast throughout their stay.
