IHG Rewards Club Introduces Dynamic Reward Nights To More Hotels Around The World (After Rollout in Greater China Region)
After launching dynamically-priced Reward Nights to properties in the Greater China region last month. IHG has started to extend this initiative to more hotels around the world this week. With this new change, the number of IHG Rewards Club points for a free night (or a Reward Night) will fluctuate just like cash rates for room bookings - expect to fork out more points for peak periods.

According to IHG, the introduction of dynamic Rewards Nights has allowed members to experience the benefit of a variable pricing model in the current travel environment. The number of required IHG Rewards Club points remained flat to the 2019 points amounts (or lower) for the next 50 weeks of stay dates and in the case of the Greater China region rollout, some hotels saw a reduction of up to 30,000 IHG Rewards Club per night from their previous point amounts.
There were previous adjustments to the requirements for elite qualification in the IHG Rewards Club program but IHG has now extended all elite statuses through January 2020 - points will also never expire for members with elite status so members can easily maintain their well-earned points for future travel.
