Following the success of Lime House, Lime Deli features authentic Caribbean food in the heart of the Central Business District at a really affordable price. Headed by Chef Hasan De Four who is born and bred in Trinidad & Tobago, Lime Deli also offers convenient takeaway lunches that are priced competitively.

Started off the dinner with some Lime Deli Rum Punch (S$10++) - simple Mount Gay Rum with a fruit punch. Definitely a great way to get away from the sweltering heat in Singapore lately! There is a long list of food items on Lime Deli's menu and I did not manage to try everything (obviously) but from what I have tried, here are the items that I really enjoyed:

The Jamaican Jerk Chicken (S$13++) on the right is the dish that stole the limelight (pun intended). Juicy and tender chicken seasoned with Jamaican Jerk then chargrilled to perfection - if you up for it, ask for some of the house-special hot sauce! The Jerk Chicken also comes with a side of coleslaw that is guaranteed to cool the spice from the hot sauce if you are adventurous.

The Chicken Curry with Rice and Beans (S$13++) is available for those craving something more hearty. While it is quite similar to the Asian way of cooking, the rice and beans provide a different carbohydrate to the usual white rice that we have the dish with. If you like curry, I will definitely recommend the Curry Goat (S$15++) instead!

Vegetarian diners rejoice too with the Doubles (S$8++). Influenced heavily by Indian flavours, the curried chick peas with a small side of salad are served on two pieces of flavoured Indian flat bread.

if you would like something a little more healthy but don't want to stay hungry through out the day, try the Rasta Pasta Salad (S$7++ a serving). I really enjoyed the flavours in this dish - light and refreshing with the fusilli providing some carbo-satisfaction (even for a non-salad lover like me).

Jamaican Patty (Chicken S$4.50++ | Beef S$5++)

If you are craving for just a small snack, check out the Jamaican Patty which comes in Beef (S$5++) or Chicken (S$4.50++). Stuffed and packed with deliciously flavoured meat, you won't be wasting calories per se on these patties!
